I LightBreak, i brevi appuntamenti online dedicati ai temi di attualità in ambito CIE e organizzati dal National Committee CIE Italia (AIDI–ASSIL), riprenderanno nel mese di settembre con un incontro dedicato al TC 8-14: Specification of Spatio-Chromatic Complexity.
Il prossimo appuntamento è in programma martedì 15 settembre, dalle ore 14:30 alle 15:00, e sarà presentato da Noel Richard, responsabile del TC per CIE, con la moderazione di Alice Plutino, Coordinatrice della Divisione 8 – Image Technology del National Committee CIE Italia.
Abstract
After 60 years, there is still no standard for the metrology of texture or non-uniform surfaces. This work develops the foundations of such metrology inside the CIE Division 8, essential for quality-control, appearance metrology and decision making for industrial and remote sensing, or medical imaging.
We will review recent proposals for defining texture (non-uniform surfaces) and the associated ways of measurement (principles, methods and procedures). We will then establish the relationship with the spatio-chromatic complexity (CIE TC 8-14) in order to define reference scales for this metrology. The Scealed project will demonstrate how measurements in the perceptual and physical domains are correlated to the psycho-physical studies.
A CIE TC on the metrology of non-uniform surfaces is currently being set up and is seeking members.
